Starbotton is a lovely hamlet set in an amazing dale with wonderful views from the cottage.The service we recieved was 1st class,the owners were very helpful.Holidaying in Britain is expensive but this cottage was good value,no extras for dogs ,logs etc.A truely wonderful place to explore the National Park.

We were welcomed at the cottage by the owners and shown all the features. The cottage had lots of games for the children (even a keyboard) and we immediately felt at home. The garden is lovely and we saw a huge variety of birds. The cottage is located at the start of many walks but not near many shops so it would be wise to order a Tesco delivery as the owners suggest. We had a really restful happy stay and hope to return.

We so much enjoyed staying at your house in Starbotton. It is beautifully and tastefully decorated, it is warm and welcoming, and the Christmas tree was a very nice touch.
We hope that we will be able to return to the Yorkshire Dales. It must be one of the most beautiful parts of the world.

We had a lovely time at "Croftie" - the welcome we received was both warm and very welcoming.
The cottage itself was an absolute delight, in a stunning location - a little piece of heaven! It felt so homely that even the children did not want to return home.
We loved all the personal touches, including the bird feeders strategically placed at the windows. We were amazed at the abundance and variety of birds which we saw each morning while having breakfast - in particular, a young family of blue tits, various chaffinches and most amazing of all, a pair of red headed woodpeckers - all of which had my husband scrutinizing one of the many lovely books you had there, for identification - apparently the red headed woodpeckers are quite rare!
The 'Games Room' above the garage was an absolute magnet for our 3 teenage children who loved playing table tennis there every evening, and even managed a tune or two on keyboard!
We look forward to hopefully returning in the future.

Just like to say how much we enjoyed our stay at Croft House.
The cottage was very comfortable & cosy in a wonderful setting, so peaceful & quiet.
We had the pleasure of seeing squirrels, hedgehogs, woodpeckers, owls and lots of other different birds in the lovely garden.
Would definitely visit again and would recommend to others.

We had a lovely time in the very well equipped cottage.
We were blessed with beautiful weather all week and the property must have one of most nicely situated gardens in the village. We were very fortunate to see the Kingfisher by the river and privileged to see the male and female woodpeckers feeding at the living room window.
All in all a great week and a fabulous cottage. We were grateful and positively surprised that the cottage was so pleasant. We have stayed in some howlers in the past and were mightily relieved, when we arrived at such an idyllic spot with accommodation to match.
We will certainly return to Croft house in the future and will not hesitate to recommend it to others.

We all had a great week, very relaxing. The weather was kind to us so we had some good walking and plenty to eat and drink.
Croft House certainly lived up to our expectations. It was a pleasure to have a comfortable bed, not something we have had with a lot of other cottages.

It was wonderful, we are very grateful to have been able to share your beautiful house!
We were out and about every day, up the hill, by the river, in the garden and of course by family in the area.
The entire family enjoyed their time in Starbotton - photo below of Finn taking full advantage of the good snow conditions in the garden.
We are certainly hoping that we will be able to stay at Croft House again sometime!
